Reverse engineering can help you become a better problem solver and eventually, a better engineer because you learn from mistakes. And if one does not make a mistake, then one can build on top of what they already progressed on. People can make better problem solvers easily by applying thier prior knowledge with "mistake knowledge". After all that they can combine all of that with their "natural question knowledge" which is basically asking questions and making a hypothesis.
